As a native Arizonan, Katie Prendergast has spent her career in both the public and private sectors with an emphasis on growing the economic development success of her home state. Most recently, she worked as the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) advocating on behalf of small businesses and finding opportunities to influence policy to benefit the business community at large. Prior to her role with ASBA, Katie worked in government affairs at Arizona Public Service, where she was responsible for representing the state’s largest electric utility company at the state capitol and at city halls in the metro Phoenix area, building partnerships and collaborating for success.
Before her work in the private sector, Katie served as a staff member for several Arizona elected officials at the federal, state, and local level, including Senator Jon Kyl, Governor Jan Brewer, and Maricopa County Supervisor Steve Chucri. Katie’s experience in policy development at all levels, stakeholder engagement, regional interests, and fiscal responsibility have given her a valuable and unique perspective.
Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Colorado State University. In her free time, Katie enjoys riding horses, traveling, hiking Arizona’s many trails, and volunteering with the Arizona Humane Society.
